Notes – Ultra rare home shirt as worn at the 1979 Copa America where the side reached the Semi-Finals before losing out to eventual winners Paraguay. Drawn into Group B with Bolivia and Argentina, the Seleção started badly, losing 2-1 to Bolivia before a 2-1 victory over eternal rivals Argentina. A 2-0 victory in the return game against Bolivia and an ill-tempered draw with Argentina saw Brazil progress to the Semis. Unfortunately, a 4-3 aggregate defeat saw them eliminated
